Skin that is dry and dehydrated can be very difficult to manage. Fine lines appear at an early age, skin can flake and peel. Sometimes it may seem that nothing you apply even soaks in. If your skin is flaky and itchy, it may be due to an allergy or sensitivity. Choose products from the Enriching Range. Check with your doctor if you are concerned.

The lotions and creams I’ve developed have pure, natural vegetable oils which penetrate and healing herbal extracts and vitamins that are designed to nourish, replenish and protect your skin.

Special botanical ingredients are included to help minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, smoothing out the skin and helping to keep it supple.

Daily Routine:

a.m. Massage Enriching Cleanser gently into skin. Rinse off with a damp face cloth or a cotton pad. Apply Enriching Toner with a cotton pad to remove any traces of cleanser or dirt. Allow to dry and then apply Enriching Face Lotion. If you require further moisture, apply Skinflint Rosehip Recovery Serum either before or after applying lotion.

p.m. Follow the same routine as the morning. Apply Enriching Face Lotion. Use Rosehip Recovery Serum on areas prone to wrinkles and dryness.
For those with more mature skin, use CoQ10 Face Cream to help soften and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Once or twice a week use Enriching Face Polish in place of Enriching Cleanser.

Weekly Routine:

Once per week, apply a Clay Mask
It’s preferable NOT to use commercial soap or harsh petroleum detergent based wash off cleansers on your face. If you don’t want to use a cleanser in the morning, simply wash with a damp face cloth and warm water. Castor Seed oil makes a good cleanser and make-up remover if you don’t have anything else suitable.

Oily skin can be the most frustrating type of skin to deal with. Make up doesn’t stay on and pores can get clogged and infected, causing break-outs and acne.

Fortunately, acne generally occurs only during adolescence and early adulthood. Sometimes, though, it can continue throughout life, causing distress and embarrassment.

Oily skin does have its benefits, believe it or not. As your skin ages, it is less likely to develop wrinkles. Any lines will be softer and less obvious. Your skin will stay supple and young looking as you get older.

The tendency for people with oily skin is to wash frequently with foaming and scrubby cleansers. Be careful with the brands you choose. Many contain harsh surfactants which can cause flakiness and other reactions. Skinflint products use very gentle vegetable based surfactants that will not strip the moisture from your skin.

Skinflint Clarifying Range is specially designed for people with oily skin. The Clarifying Face Lotion contains Beta Hydroxy Acids in the form of salicylic acid, in its natural form as Black Willow Bark extract. BHA’s exfoliate within the pores so are an essential part of the skin care regime for people with oily skin and blocked pores.
This is one of the main ingredients in Pro-Activ. The other, Benzoyl Peroxide is the less desired ingredient. It is extremely harsh and can cause excessive dryness and peeling skin.

Daily Routine:

a.m. Rinse face with a wash cloth and warm water or use Clarifying Cleanser or Face Polish. Apply Clarifying Toner with a cotton pad or spray with Clarifying Spritzer. While still slightly moist apply Clarifying Face Lotion.

If using foundation, it’s best to use a pressed foundation such as Natural compatibles Wet and Dry. This contains minerals that absorb excess oil and conceal large pores.
Mineral Foundation is also excellent. It will blend with the oils in your skin and help to absorb the oil.

p.m. Use Clarifying Cleanser or Clarifying Face Polish to remove any make up and/or excess oils and dirt. Massage gently into skin and rinse off. Apply Clarifying Toner with a cotton pad or use the Spritzer spray. While still moist apply a small amount of Clarifying Face Lotion.
For those with mature skin, use Skinflint CoQ10 Face Cream. This will help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles without adding any oily or greasy feel to your skin.

Weekly Routine:

Two to three times per week, apply a Clay Mask to draw out impurities and minimise appearance of large pores. If you find your skin is very oily in the morning, try using dry clay on a wet face as a quick cleanser/gentle scrub.

Treatments:

If break outs occur, dab with tea tree oil on a cotton tip. If you have acne, dilute the Tea Tree oil in a tiny bit of Vodka. You can also just apply some Clarifying Toner to spots to help dry them out.

Always moisturise your skin. It may feel as if it has too much moisture, but oil is only one aspect of moisture. It needs the water component as well. If you apply a small amount of Skinflint Face Lotion while your skin is still damp from Skinflint Toner, you won’t be applying too much.

A mixture of oily and normal or dry skins, this is also tricky to deal with. People with this sort of skin usually have an oily T-zone and normal or dry skin on the cheeks.

DRY COMBINATION
If your cheek area is more dry than normal, or you are over 45, then use the Enriching Range and follow the routine for this skincare range. Apply a tiny bit of Rosehip Recovery Serum on the cheek and eye area at night.
When applying Enriching Face Lotion to the oilier T-zone, make sure that the skin is a little damp from the toner so not as much moisturiser is used in this area.

NORMAL COMBINATION
If your cheek area is normal and you're under 45, it's best to use the Clarifying Range and follow the routine for this skincare range, but allow the toner to completely dry in the cheek area before applying moisturiser.

I recommend using the Enriching Range if you're over 45 since it contains ingredients to help fight ageing and smooth wrinkles.
